Supporting the Bartenders
Stocking Supplies: Ensure that the bar is well-stocked with essential items such as liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware. Refill bottles and replenish supplies as needed during shifts.
Organizing the Bar Area: Keep the bar area clean, tidy, and organized to ensure bartenders can work efficiently. This includes arranging bottles, glassware, and tools, and maintaining cleanliness on counters and shelves.
Assisting with Drink Preparation: Prepare basic drink ingredients like garnishes, fruits, and mixers for bartenders. In some cases, they may also assist with pouring or preparing less complex drinks (depending on the establishment's policy).
Supporting Bartenders During Busy Periods: During high-volume times, barbacks assist bartenders by fetching supplies, running orders, or cleaning glasses, allowing bartenders to focus on serving drinks to customers quickly.
Cleaning and Maintaining the Bar Area
Cleaning Glassware: Regularly wash, sanitize, and polish glasses, ensuring they are ready for service.
Cleaning Surfaces: Wipe down bar counters, tables, and stools, keeping everything clean and hygienic for customers and staff.
Maintaining Cleanliness in Back of House: Ensure the back-of-house areas, including the storage room, refrigerators, and dishwashing area, are organized, clean, and stocked.
Handling Waste and Recycling: Collect empty bottles, glassware, and trash, ensuring that they are disposed of properly and safely.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Team player mindset, willing to help wherever needed.
Basic knowledge of cocktails, liquor brands, and bar operations (preferred).

Inventory and Stock Control
Monitoring Inventory: Help track the inventory of liquor, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other supplies. Notify bartenders or management when supplies are running low or need to be restocked.
Organizing Storage: Ensure that all supplies are properly stored in designated areas. This includes organizing bottles in the bar or storage room and ensuring that perishable items are kept fresh.
Assisting with Stock Rotation: Help rotate stock to ensure that older inventory is used first and that new stock is properly stored and organized.
Customer Service Support
Guest Interaction: While barbacks are usually not the primary point of contact with customers, they may assist by refilling water glasses, serving condiments, or addressing other guest needs when appropriate.
Order Delivery: In some establishments, barbacks may assist in delivering drinks or food to tables, or helping bartenders serve drinks directly to customers.
Providing a Welcoming Environment: While performing duties behind the scenes, barbacks should maintain a positive, friendly attitude and work in coordination with the bartenders to create a pleasant atmosphere for guests.
