**About the role**:
Qatar Airways (QR) are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Group Risk, Safety & Security team as a Manager SMS Training and Safety Promotions to be based in Doha, Qatar.

As a Manager SMS Training and Safety Promotions, you will be responsible for designing, creating, implementing and supporting overall strategic safety promotion plan to ensure a coherent, integrated and long-term safety promotion programme within Qatar Airways Group. In this role, you will also be responsible for improving employee engagement levels by ensuring an accurate, timely and appropriate flow of promotional material throughout all levels of the organisation, leading to a continuous improvement in the safety performance of Qatar Airways Group.

**Specific responsibilities for the role include**:

- Partner with HR and the relevant training departments to design, plan and deliver a strategic training and communication programme for all employees. This programme will be relevant, timely and engaging. Consult with, influence and brief stakeholders to facilitate delivery of all activities, materials and campaigns within budget and milestones.
- Create and deliver presentations and product demonstrations to line departments to support the introduction of new safety promotion initiatives. Direct, motivate, and influence the mobilisation of the line departments to ensure delivery of the product, concept or campaign objectives within scope, time, cost and quality.
- Design and lead initiatives (with the assistance of Market Research Dept.), to determine effectiveness of safety training and promotion activities. Provide guidance and support to line departments on the interpretation of survey data to ensure relevant corrective and follow up action is taken to resolve any issues that may arise. Obtain commitment to these actions by highlighting the specific benefits and disadvantages of adapting alternative approaches, whilst ensuring that company values and aspirations are followed.
- Act as a day to day point of contact for business units to provide guidance and support regarding safety promotion. Manage the business unit needs by understanding the business motives and direct the implementation of employee engagement and communication strategies in line with the annual budget and Group Safety promotion strategy.
- Create, develop and design safety promotion materials based on knowledge of safety concepts, layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. Work closely with the Corporate Communication/ Marketing Department, to ensure that all communications are on brand and are appropriate in tone and appearance.
- Plan and coordinate the Group Safety promotional activities including planning and coordination of annual safety week/days on a regular basis.
- Explore, analyse and make recommendations on the use of new technologies and methodologies, by where practicable attending seminars, training courses and conducting periodic research, to ensure the internal safety promotion activities are managed in the most effective way.
- Create, design and deliver safety promotion material for all staff as appropriate using a range of methods as required, ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity and consistency of messages, including but not limited to: Newsletters - departmental newsletters, webpages and SharePoint sites to ensure consistency of the corporate safety message. Intranet - own the relationship with IT to continually develop the Group Safety and Security webpage(s) as an effective internal communications tool, ensuring that the audience(s) needs are met.
- Create, develop and manage a safety briefing/ training plan to ensure the consistent, relevant and timely delivery of safety information, (Briefing and training materials).

**About you**
- Relevant College or University qualification with a minimum of 9 years of job-related experience.
- Formal safety qualifications, e.g. SMS, QMS, NEBOSH, IOSH, CSM preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of safety management systems.
- Experience working in many operational roles related to flight operations, safety and quality management.
