**Job Overview**:
The Sr. Civil/Structural Designer utilizes 3D modeling and drafting software in the production of complex concrete and steel design deliverables pertaining to the initial planning and design phases of heavy industrial/ oil & gas type facilities. Assumes responsibility for schedule and quantities. Maintains and promotes a focus on McDermott’s end-product whether engineering, fabrication, or construction.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Utilize 3D design systems in the production of complex design deliverable drawings.
- Model of complex concrete and steel structures.
- Prepare and pre-check various plans sections & details drawings.
- Assist the Lead Designer in compiling, tracking & trending material quantities. Perform a variety of drafting/design computations.
- Support the development of junior designers.
- Ensure effective communication among other engineering disciplines.

**Essential Qualifications and Education**:

- High School diploma
- Associate Degree preferred
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of design concepts & systems
- Experience using Intergraph S3D and SmartSketch
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in design, modeling & drafting
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Heavy Industrial/ Oil & Gas type facilities
- Ability to learn and maintain the design within our company methods and procedures
- Strong communication skill and professional ethics
- Ability to work independently organize and prioritize work assignments and deal with conflicting priorities
