Database Platform Senior Specialist

**Oracle Ebusiness Suite (ERP) services**:

- **Install patch and maintain ERP instances.**
- **Clone ERP instances. Refresh test instances with production data.**
- **Monitoring of ERP services.**
- **Access control on ERP instances.**
- **Backup and restore ebusiness suite instances.**
- **Install, patch and maintain weblogic instances.**
- **Perform maintenance activities using AD uitilities.**
- **Performance Tuning.**

**Oracle Database services**:

- **Install patch and maintain Oracle database and RAC instances.**
- **Tablespace and datafile management.**
- **Performance Tuning**
- **Backup and recovery.**
- **Scheduled maintenance jobs and automation.**
- **Database security hardening.**
- **Service monitoring and alerting using enterprise monitoring tools ( Solarwinds)**

**MS Sql Server services**:

- **Install patch and maintain MS sql server standalone and cluster instances.**
- **Log file management**
- **Database backup and recovery**
- **Performance tuning**
- **Security hardening.**
- **Service monitoring and alerting using enterprise monitoring tools ( Solarwinds).**

**System Administrator**
- **Executes Troubleshooting methodology and root-cause analysis to resolve small to intermediate level problems**
- **Act as a Tier II focal point to resolve all break/fix and service degradation issues**
- **Adheres to the agreed event management notification and escalation procedures**
- **Lead availability management activities to optimize maintenance and design measures that meet contracted SLA’s**
- **Adhere to change management process and procedures**
- **Prepare and execute systems maintenance plans to proactively manage reliability and service expectations**
- **Responsible for upgrading, and managing OS’s on all production systems**
- **Perform periodic reviews of Configuration Items (CIs) to ensure compliance with policies and standards. Perform thorough operational readiness activities**
- **Prepares and maintains technical documentation to assist with the on-going operation, maintenance, and development of the enterprise services**
- **Perform configuration management activities to manage work instructions and implement configuration changes following agreed procedures**

**Back Up and Restore Systems**
- **Keep backup and restoration processes current and well documented**
- **Perform backup functions on a regular basis, using the appropriate processes**
- **Ensure system service disruption is kept to a minimum and that data is not lost**
- **Regularly monitors systems.**
- **Document and maintain DR run books and procedures to ensure failover of IT services to DR site.**

**Provide System/Technical Support**
- **Promptly fix any system breakdowns that occur, or delegate the fix to an appropriate technical support group within**
- **Ensure the system being supported is fully operational**
- **Analyse system performance, and seek opportunities to make recommendations for system improvements**
- **Manage and Monitor System Operations to ensure system maintains a high-level of uptime and server is stable**
- **Manage and Resolve Problems to ensure resolution occurs quickly and customer down time is minimized**

**Repair and Update Hardware, Software, and Operating Systems**
- **Identify the root causes of system problems**
- **Minimize system downtime and maintain / enhance system functionality**
- **Make recommendations for system enhancements that will increase functionality and productivity utilizing approved tools**

**Systems Performance and Monitoring**
- **Build, configure and maintain enterprise monitoring platforms to pro-actively monitor servers, databases and web urls to ensure uptime of services to organization.**
- **Ensures capacity monitoring and alerting across infrastructure components.**
- **Ensures accuracy of universal configuration manager database.**

**Project Management**
- **Act as the prime focal point on managing outsourced projects so as to ensure a timely completion of the project at hand according to cost, time, budget and quality.**
- **Continuous Improvement**
- **Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.**

**Requirements**:
**1. **Minimum 10 years of hands on experience managing Oracle ebusiness suite, Oracle Access manager, Oracle database, Microsoft sql server platforms.**

**2. **Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field.**

**3. **Attain one certification from any of the technology domains below**:

**6. **MySQL 8.0 Database Administrator**

**7. **Operating System: Red Hat Certified Engineer**
