Key Accountabilities:
Role Purpose

Design, install, operate, and maintain electronic security systems such as CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, intruder detection alarms, physical security barriers and communication devices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee the issuance and management of access cards for employees and contractors.
- Develop and manage the processes for securing electronic security networks.
- Set up key controls on security equipment to limit access to restricted property.
- Order the supply of security tools and equipment required in carrying out security operations.
- Control budgets for electronic security equipment and maintenance contract expenses
- Plan and coordinate electronic security projects.
- Investigate and resolve technical security issues.
- Ensure operating systems are functioning correctly and are fit for purpose.
- Ensure the efficient and correct system use of systems by technical staff.
- Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology).
- Work cross functionally with IT, facilities management, project office and heads of security.
- Create reports for management on electronic security project status.
- Develop and implement control room operations manual that supports all museum operations.
- Manage the delivery of control room operations and ensure delivery of operational KPI’s
- Manage training and development and recruitment of control room staff.
- Conduct inspections and monitor control room staff performance.
- Ensure compliance with CCTV and physical security standards and relevant national laws.

- Must have the technical security knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of electronic security systems or equipment

Education, Experience, and certification requirements
- BS degree in an Electronic Engineering discipline, Computer Science or Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, which at least three years should be in a management position. Experience in:

- IP Surveillance Solutions
- Electronic Security Hardware & Software
- CCTV & Video Analytics
- Intruder Detection Systems
- Access Control Systems
- RFID systems
- Electronic locks & keys
- Database/data center
- Barriers, Xray Scanners, Turnstiles and Bollards
- Control room design & systems
- Communication systems (transmissions, radios etc.)
- Computer systems.
