Pastry Chef duties and responsibilities
A Pastry Chef role can be demanding. A Pastry Chef may have a variety of duties, including to:
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
- Prepare a variety of baked goods
- Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
- Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
- Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
- Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel and train them
- Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends

- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
- Facilitate hygiene and grooming standards.
- Assign the staff to follow FIFO (First IN First OUT) system of handling raw materials and processed food at all times.
- Co-ordinates with the staff to use raw materials efficiently with maximum yield and minimum wastage.
- Co-ordinates with CDP for planning of the section and supports during menu presentation.
- Facilitates all assigned activities assigned and ensures that they are completed on time and the report is given based on production plan.
- Divides all the tasks assigned by his senior to his assistants.
- Follows instructions of seniors to help in smooth operation and assist Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in implementing new process or new cooking techniques.
- Provides all the information related to machinery failure and small equipment damages to Chef de Partie.
**Salary**: QAR3,500.00 - QAR4,500.00 per month
