**Job Summary and Purpose**:
Lead, direct and administer skilled workers engaged in welding activities on-board and workshop for timely delivery of projects.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Act as first line supervisor for welding activities in line with the work instructions / welding standards.
- Ensure workers are maintaining proper housekeeping of work place at required standards.
- Monitor and report any issues and delays to Foreman promptly.
- Motivate staff to take initiative and support staff through on-job-training/education.
- Ensure all necessary plant and welding equipment are maintained in a current operable and calibrated condition.
- Ensure consumable control requirements are closely followed and workers are properly supplied with tools, equipment and materials.
- Ensure WPS for particular work‐scopes are understood by welders and comply with same.
- Motivate productive and safe performance of workers.
- Ensure all HSE and Quality aspects are met.
- Assisting in manpower requirement reviews.
- Ensure the welders qualifications are up-to-date and valid.
- Should be aware of all the NDT techniques and coordinate with NDT technicians for the completed jobs

**Qualifications**:

- Welding qualifications
- Diploma / Industrial Training Certificate in engineering or equivalent. Other qualifications with relevant field experience also cane be considered

**Experience**:

- First line supervision experience in ship yard / heavy industries.
- Familiarity with welding works with at least 3 years of experience in a Supervisor/Lead position.

- Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation

- Thorough Knowledge of offshore standards
- Thorough Knowledge of welding machines
- Thorough Knowledge of welding consumables and handling
- Thorough Knowledge welding procedure Specification
- Thorough Knowledge of welding defects and causes of defects
