**Main Purpose/Job Summary**
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- To Write brief and succinct analytical Reviews, correct and edit any spelling or grammatical errors before information goes on live TV.
- Work effectively within tight deadlines whilst meeting time lines
- Organise and prepare comprehensive briefings on changes to information for presenters, journalists and other team members as required
- Monitors news and other traditional and non traditional international news sources
- Work collaboratively and closely with Journalists, Newsgathering, Planning and Satellite teams to ensure all necessary information is provided and communicated effectively, whilst ensuring all relevant details are accurate and any spelling/grammatical errors are corrected
- Keep accurate records of all communications, interactions and amendments to any broadcasting information
- Provide guidance, support and advice to team colleagues when required
- To carry out the above duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable legal obligations, including broadcast regulations specifically in accordance with the Ofcom Code.
**Essential**:

- Demonstrates a talent for identifying, scrutinizing, improving and streamlining written news bulletins before presenting on air
- Previous experience working as a language monitor / specialist or similar type of role within a TV environment or similar
- Experience of working within a dynamic news environment and demonstrating excellent language skills both written and spoken
- To be able to react immediately to breaking news and providing an exceptional service of reviewing the proposed presentations
- Flexible, willing to assist colleagues and able to maintain composure, communicate professionally and demonstrate excellent problem solving skills
- Demonstrates an in depth knowledge and understanding of news and up to date current events in both the Arab world and internationally
- Excellent comprehension of up to date knowledge of spoken and written modern standard Arabic as a first or equivalent language
- A comprehensive and excellent standard written and spoken English language skills
- An effective decision maker who demonstrates good judgement and commands credibility and respect from their colleagues
- Proven analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise and perform in a multi changing priorities environment
- Performs consistently and exerts optimal effort in successfully completing and re writing tasks under pressure
- A good understanding and experience of working with social media tools
- Approachable manner that encourages positive interaction with others
- Tenacity to overcome obstacles and to perform and deliver what is required
- Collaborative approach and work style across the business to achieve positive relationships and work objectives
- Comprehensive knowledge of regional and international news.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Awareness of the growing importance of social media and the benefits and challenges it brings.
- Highly developed communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key people in other parts of Alaraby, and in external organizations.
- Experience and thorough understanding of the Company’s legal obligations, including the Ofcom Code.
**Desirable**:

- 5+ years of Experience working in a similar capacity
**Education/Qualification**
- BA degree in languages or similar Qualification
