Crew Optimisation Manager

About the Role

As a Crew Optimization Manager, you will be responsible to ensure that the continuous development on the crew management processes that are supported by the Jeppesen Suite of products at Qatar Airways, are delivered on time and in a constant high quality.

Other key responsibilities are:

- Facilitate delivery of business support to Pairing and Rostering planning team from Jeppesen Suite products. This is to ensure delivery time is met as per planned.
- Define training plan for new joiners in the team in order the ensure that they are properly trained in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Set up test plan for the development team in order to ensure that all new development is fully tested.
- Track progress of test plans by monitoring all testers in order to ensure that the entire system is fully tested on the release date.
- Record test results in the tracking tool (Jira) and ensure that developers are assigned to this in order to ensure that any issue found is resolved and retested in a timely fashion.
- Maintain the Backlog in Jira in order to maintain a constant view of the requested work including its priority.
- Manage the three-monthly Jeppesen release projects, maintaining the project status and periodically provide status update with the aid of JIRA.
- Coordinate with crew resources stakeholders to clear, define and schedule requirements needed from Jeppesen products. This is to ensure products delivered is working as per expected and relevant to current scenarios.
- Conduct internal system audits and communicate findings to crew resources Stake holders, this is to ensure Jeppesen suite products are up to date and adhere to legal requirements.
- Liaise with vendors and other airline members to ensure awareness on any changes in business practice within and pertaining to the airline environment.
- Raise change request with IT to get modifications done to the system for maximizing benefit of system. And coordinate system outages for maintenance and upgrades to reduce downtimes.
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

**Qualifications**:
About You
- At least 3 years’ experience in Rave and Python development, with preferably also Linux scripting experience
- Qualification of bachelor’s degree or equivalent is essential.
- Minimum 6+ years of job-related experience
- Qualification in IT
- Scrum methodology
- Profound business knowledge of Rostering and Pairing for Flight deck as well as for Cabin Crew.
- Knowledge of JCR and JCP products.
- Command of English language.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Highly developed planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
