Plant Operations Engineer

Responsible for the overall management of the operations department by effective leadership to meet operational and plant performance targets, with due care for the environment, personnel safety, in a cost effective manner.
- Supervise the plant during shift hours for safe, efficient and smooth operation taking care of load demand
- Communicate with team during shift hours.
- Ensure recording of parameters as per log sheets.
- Monitor recorded parameters from log sheets.
- Analyze plant operating parameters.
- Identify abnormal parameters, predict potential faults and report / propose the remedial action to SSE.
- Communicate with maintenance and other sections.
- Participate in fault investigation and propose remedial measures.
- Prepare safety documents during shift hours relevant to his authorization.
- Prepare shift report and other sheets as per shift routine.
- Follow-up and supervise execution of periodic checks & stand-by changeover at the plant.
- Participate as representative of Operation team in daily planning meeting.
- Ensure plant integrity by taking round of the plant.
- Assist Operations Section Head in identifying training needs of the shift staff.
- Assist Operations Section Head in enhancing plant knowledge of the shift team and in appropriate management of resources.
- Implement IMS in his area of responsibilities.
- Perform any other relevant task assigned by his seniors.

- Drive the department’s performance to ensure alignment with the plant’s strategies and objectives and provide technical expertise as required.

- Identify the training needs and ensure the implementation of appropriate training to strengthen group member’s capabilities.
- Ensure the attainment of department Key Result Areas (KRAs).
- Collaborate with the Trading Group in the formulation of strategies on plant dispatching.
- Ensure department’s adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Integrated Management System (IMS) Procedures and Company Policies. Review, improve and update SOPs and IMS procedures to meet emerging needs.
- Conduct periodic inspection to assess plant performance and reliability.
- Evaluate root cause and failure analysis report and investigations for accuracy and for information dissemination to the department.
- Verify completeness of job hazard analysis matrix
- Provide inputs in the periodic risk assessment review of the plant.
- Prepare and manage the department annual budget.
- Ensure department’s maintenance schedules are met and activities are properly accomplished.
- Validate operational reports i. e. daily performance reports, abnormality reports, monthly operational reports, etc.
- Lead and direct plant operations personnel during emergency situations such as fire, threats to security, and other calamities.
- Promotes and participates actively in the Company’s QESH programs, projects and activities.
- Perform other duties and tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
