We are preparing for the launch of our first flagship bakery & café and are looking for experience Commis Chef to join our opening team.

Role Overview:

The Commis Chef's responsibilities include preparing ingredients, assisting with menu preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about food, eager to learn, and able to follow recipes and instructions accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for the meal service, including washing, peeling, cutting, and chopping.
  • Follow the guidance of the senior chef in preparing dishes.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory management and kitchen equipment maintenance.
  • Help with the cleaning and organization of the kitchen and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling knives and kitchen equipment safely

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Commis Chef, or similar role within a kitchen.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary vocabulary.
  • Understanding of health and safety rules in a kitchen.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
  • Great attention to detail and creativity.
  • Working knowledge of baking techniques and the pastry-making process is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
