Job Purpose:

The Junior Accountant supports the Finance & Accounts department by performing daily accounting and administrative tasks. The role ensures accurate record-keeping, timely transaction processing, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including recording of sales, purchases, journal entries, and payments in Tally ERP.
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations in Tally.
  • Process and follow up on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable including invoice verification and vendor/customer ledgers.
  • Assist in monthly and year-end closing activities and preparation of financial reports.
  • Conduct bank reconciliation, petty cash accounting, and expense claim processing.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of all vouchers, invoices, payment proofs, and financial records for audit and compliance.
  • Support preparation of VAT/GST/WHT/Tax filings and related documentation (as applicable).
  • Coordinate with internal departments to gather required data for accounting entries.
  • Assist auditors during internal and external audits.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • **Hands-on experience with Tally ERP is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting
  • Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
