Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark.

The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country's biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North's Waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world's highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.

Waterpark Operations Support Manager


Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Operations Support Manager manages one of multiple departmental responsibilities, including Administration, Training, or Operations.


They will manage these processes with the objective of providing a safe, friendly experience for waterpark guests, and a fair working environment for employees.

What you will be doing:

General

  • Support the Operations Manager with the management of Aquatics department and park operations
  • Develop, implement, and improve department processes
  • Specialized responsibility over Administration, Training, Operation, and Risk Management
  • Coach and counsel employees

Administration

  • Onboard employees to familiarize them with basic processes and safety practices
  • Manage employee scheduling
  • Manage inventory of office supplies

Training

  • Perform employee training for lifeguarding, slide dispatch, guest service
  • Manage certification and renewal of employee licenses
  • Manage ongoing training
  • Manage inventory of training supplies and equipment

Operations

  • Manage daytoday lifeguard operation
  • Train frontline supervisors
  • Develop current and future leadership
  • Oversee Slide Testing and Pool Cleaning teams
  • Manage internal auditing program
  • Manage inventory of operational equipment

Risk Management

  • Respond to guest or employee incidents. Cooperate with Health & Safety/Security to document and investigate incidents
  • Provide First Aid within scope of training and/or escort distressed party to Medical Providers
  • Manage inventory of first aid supplies

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Understand resort emergency procedures
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum
  • Experience
  • 2 years of lifeguard experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Current or previous experience as a lifeguard instructor within programs such as Ellis & Associates, StarGuard ELITE, or American Red Cross
  • Skill
  • Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language
  • Professional competency in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
  • Preferred
  • Experience
  • Combined 7 years of experience utilizing the Ellis & Associates Program, including experience as a frontline lifeguard as well as direct supervision of lifeguards
  • Operational experience managing lifeguard headcounts over 20 and frontline leadership
  • Practical experience in two or more areas of waterpark operation, including Administration, Training, Operations, and Risk Management
  • Prior experience as a lifeguard instructor within the Ellis & Associates program
