Manages group/catering opportunities not handled bythe Event Booking Center. Actively up-sells each businessopportunity to maximize revenue opportunity. Achieves personal andteam related revenue goals. Ensures business is turned overproperly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery.
Responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering serviceexcellence throughout each customer experience. Provide service toour customers in order to grow share of the account on behalf ofthe company. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience
  • Highschool diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales andmarketing, guest services, front desk, or related professionalarea.
OR - 2-year degree from an accredited university in BusinessAdministration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, orrelated major; no work experience required. CORE WORK ACTIVITIESUnderstanding Markets & Maximizing Revenue
  • Identifies newgroup/catering business to achieve personal and property revenuegoals.
  • Understands the overall market competitors'strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand knows how to sell against them.
  • Closes the best opportunitiesfor the property based on market conditions and property needs.
  • Monitors same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue andcontrol property occupancy.
  • Gains understanding of theproperty's primary target customer and serviceexpectations; serves the customer by understanding their business,business issues and concerns, to offer better business solutionboth prior to, and during the program/event.
Conducting Daily SalesActivities
  • Responds to incoming group/catering opportunities forthe property that are outside parameters of the Event BookingCenter.
  • Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities toclose on business and negotiate contracts.
  • Uses sales resourcesand administrative/support staff effectively.
- Executes andsupports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g.,generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).Providing Exceptional Customer Service
  • Supports thecompany's service and relationship strategy, drivingcustomer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout eachcustomer experience.
  • Services our customers in order to growshare of the account.
  • Executes and supports thecompany's Customer Service Standards andproperty's Brand Standards.
  • Provides excellent customerservice consistent with the daily service basics of the brand.
  • Executes exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfactionand loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring theirsatisfaction before and during their program/event.
  • Partners withEvent Management and/or Operations in providing a customerexperience that exceeds the customer's expectations.
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interacts withguests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
-Attends pre - and post-convention meetings to understand groupneeds, obtain feedback on quality of product (e.g., rooms, meetingfacilities and equipment, food and beverage), service levels andoverall satisfaction.
  • Executes exemplary customer service todrive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customerand ensuring their satisfaction before and during theirprogram/event.
  • Serves the customer by understanding their needsand recommending the appropriate features and services that bestmeet their needs and exceed their expectations, while building arelationship and loyalty to the company.
Building SuccessfulRelationships - Works collaboratively with off-property saleschannels (e.g., Event Booking Center, Market Sales, StrategicAccounts) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementaryand not duplicative.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships withexisting and new customers to enable future bookings.
Activitiesinclude sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expandcustomer base for group/catering sales opportunities.
  • Manages anddevelops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provides accurate, complete and effective turnover to EventManagement.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Utilizes intranet forresources and information.
  • Conducts site inspections.
  • Createscontracts as required.
  • Participates in and practices dailyservice basics of the brand.
