As an Operations Officer at EAC, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely analysis of financial reports submitted by EAC partners to ensure adherence to grant agreements, approved budgets, and internal processes and to facilitate the project decision-making process. Handle EAC daily operations, streamline processes, and contribute to the overall growth and success of the EAC Operations team.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Review and conduct financial analysis on reports submitted by external stakeholders/partners.
  2. Verify the validity of payment requests against the necessary supporting documentation prior to submission of requests to EAA's Finance Department.
  3. Ensure partner adherence to grant agreements and project budgets.
  4. Conduct project cost variance analysis taking into consideration estimated and actual project costs.
  5. Analyse, extract, define, and interpret financial data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  6. Prepare cash flow and budget forecast reports to facilitate project decision-making process.
  7. Liaise and assist the Engagement Team in the preparation of external communication regarding EAC's projects.
  8. Liaise and assist other EAA's Programs on legal, financial, and operational aspects as required by EAC's Senior Management.
  9. Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information.
  10. Streamline and optimize daily operational processes.
  11. Develop and implement workflows to enhance efficiency.
  12. Collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth and coordinated operations.
  13. Monitor budgets and expenses.
  14. Ensure adherence to EAC/EAA internal policies and regulations.
  15. Prepare necessary reports and documentation.
  16. Assist in identifying operational challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  17. Proactively address issues to minimize disruptions.
  18. Liaise with stakeholders, both internal and external, while maintaining clear and effective communication channels.
  19. Implement quality control measures to uphold high standards.
  20. Support the team to conduct regular quality assessments and audits.
  21. Assist in planning and executing projects and initiatives.
  22. Carry out all other duties within the area of Operations as requested.

In order to be successful in this role you will bring:

  1. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business management.
  2. 2-5 years of relevant full-time work experience.

  1. Proven experience in operations management or a similar role.
  2. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  3. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  4. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  6. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  7. The ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Excellent communication skills in English.
  10. Excellent MS Office skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
