**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare and cook a wide variety of Afghan dishes, including but not limited to kebabs, qabili pilau, mantu, bolani, and aushak.
- Plan and execute menu items in accordance with authentic Afghan recipes, ensuring authenticity and quality of flavors.
- Procure and manage inventory of ingredients necessary for Afghan cuisine, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Monitor food stock levels and place orders for ingredients as needed to maintain inventory levels.
- Adhere to proper food handling and sanitation procedures, always ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate cooking schedules and ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
- Adapt recipes and menu items as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions or special requests from customers.
- Stay updated on current food trends and innovations in Afghan cuisine and incorporate new ideas into menu planning when appropriate.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in Afghan cooking techniques and recipes as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience working as a cook specializing in Afghan cuisine, with a deep understanding of Afghan culinary traditions and flavors.
- Proficiency in preparing a wide range of Afghan dishes, with the ability to follow traditional recipes and techniques.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate changing menu items, dietary restrictions, and customer preferences.
- A passion for Afghan cuisine and a dedication to delivering high-quality, authentic dishes that exceed customer expectations.
**Education and Certification**:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Culinary training or certification from a recognized culinary institute preferred.
- Food safety certification.
- Valid QID and NOC
