Role Overview

The Group Strategy team is charged with leading strategy development for the Group and ensuring the proper cascade and coordination with the various teams (Group and OpCo).

This role will be responsible for supporting the strategic development of the Group as well as supporting the strategic planning & performance management process, engaging with all key stakeholders (Group and OpCos) and supporting to drive both the design and execution of the strategic engagement processes, doing required research, financial/ competitive & business model analysis and derive from techno-commercial trends implications for the strategic planning & performance management activities.

The strategic planning & performance management team is tasked with identifying strategic gaps or opportunities in the current environment of the OpCos and provide respective input in the monthly performance management cadence as well as to engage with the strategy heads in the operating companies to identify early on emerging strategic themes.

Beyond this the team is supposed to take care of strategic themes, develop a point of view for a management committee dialogue and facilitate input from OpCo Heads of Strategy and OpCo CEOs into these strategic themes.

The Strategic planning & performance management team is a small, agile and flat organization consisting factually of 2 FTE inclusive of the head.

This role will be responsible for supporting the strategy development cycle that includes among other.
- the development & creation of the materials for the annual **Group Strategy** Board Session, coordination with other departments for the Group Strategy Board Session, design & coordination of a process to integrate internal inputs from GCXOs;
- develop **strategy for selected topics** of strategic relevance for the Group such as Fibre/Fixed BB, delayering options for our business model etc - either top down from OG or together with the OpCos
- ** support planning & performance management,** engaging with all key stakeholders (Group and OpCos) and supporting to drive both the design and execution of the strategic engagement processes, doing required research, financial/ competitive & business model analysis.
- ** derive from techno-commercial trends implications for the Group Strategy** and the strategic planning & performance management activities.

**GROUP STRATEGY**
- develop & enhance the Group Strategy framework with required analysis, synthesis of industry trends and benchmarking across peers and internally.
- prepare capital markets presentations for Group MD and GCSO where required to communicate the strategic direction of the Group.
- prepare & conduct for internal forums presentations to communicate the Group Strategy to functions.
- design & prepare together with employee communications appropriate awareness campaigns on Group strategy for OG and OpCos.
- Develop & maintain a tracker on key industry trends.
- Maintain/further develop and update the quarterly industry peer dashboard with respective thematic focus areas.

**STRATEGIC PROJECTS**
- develop for strategic themes such as fibre a strategic viewpoint and coordinate if needed the work of external consultants & manage internal contributors to achieve end result that can be presented to Ooredoo board/Ooredoo Management Committee (GMC).

**STRATEGIC PLANNING**

- Conducting the strategic planning & performance management team scope of activities (planning frameworks, required analysis, modelling, competitor/financial analysis, techno-commercial and business model perspective)
- Support the design of the strategic planning process as part of the annual groupwide planning process.
- drive, prepare and follow-up on the strategic planning discussions to align & support the group strategic direction agreed by the Ooredoo board.
- develop and provide as a core input to the annual planning market sizing and forecasts for the relevant footprint markets, support the discussion with OpCo CEOs and CCOs and align with commercial group functions in this context.
- conduct the competitive tracking for the respective footprint markets together with the Opcos and leverage state of the art methods to track.
- provide the strategic planning insights as input to the strategic dialogue with the group management committee and the Ooredoo board.
- provide strategic input and feedback on the OpCo performance management meetings and follow-through.
- participate in the group strategy leadership team (SLT) where required with the OpCo strategy heads, draft respective agendas to support strategic alignment.
- support the execution of the Group Leadership team meetings (GLT) that are chaired by the GCSO with regards to agenda setting, moderation and execution
