About the Company

Course engages in the exploration, production, transportation, and sale of crude oil and natural gas. The company operates through three segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate.

The Upstream segment includes crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids exploration, field development, and production. The Downstream segment focuses on refining, logistics, power generation, and the marketing of crude oil, petroleum and petrochemical products, and related services to international and domestic customers. The Corporate segment offers supporting services including human resources, finance, and information technology.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Development Analyst to join the Merger and Acquisition Department at Course. The Merger and Acquisition Department is responsible for executing M&A transactions originated by different business lines of the company and approved by the corporate management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed due diligence on target companies, including financial and operational analysis.
  • Perform valuation of target companies using various methods and evaluate business plans.
  • Develop and negotiate transaction agreements, including non-binding offers and definitive agreements.
  • Manage transaction execution, including selecting and working with advisors.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, including internal organizations and external partners.
  • Assemble initial offerings to potential investors and coordinate with subject matter experts.
  • Provide administrative direction and personnel management to Business Development Analysts.
  • Ensure compliance with process stage gates and approvals.
Requirements
  • The candidate must be willing to relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business, or Finance from a recognized international program is preferred. An MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.
  • Experience: Ideally, the candidate has 10-15 years of experience in business development, including at least five years of experience in M&A transaction execution.
Skills and Expertise
  • Strong M&A background with experience in financial valuation, modeling, due diligence, commercial negotiations, and transaction structuring.
  • Adequate understanding of financial analysis, valuation methodologies, and commercial principles of transactions.
  • Industry expertise or knowledge in specific venturing activities, such as commercialization, spin-offs, or joint venturing.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools.
  • Time-management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and work under stress.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of control and emphasis on quality.
  • Strong team player, demonstrating initiative, dynamism, and creativity.
  • Fluency in English (and other languages if possible).
  • Solid understanding of commercial business models in various sectors, e.g., oil and gas.
  • Experience with risks reporting and risks dashboard.
  • Understanding of portfolio management principles.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are advantageous.
