Job title - Lead Customs Clearance Agent - Ref # - 224764 - Location - Qatar - Doha - Job family - Not Specified - Closing date: 24-Aug-2025 **About the Role** Qatar Aviation Services Cargo is recruiting for Lead Customs Clearance Agent to fill the role recently vacated due to an internal promotion. The role will be responsible to process customs formalities and clearance of company materials for all shipment cosigned to Qatar Airways Group according to Qatar Customs law and company rules in timely manner. As Lead Customs Clearance Agent you will also need to ensure Company materials are delivered to the consignee. Operational Accountabilities: - Deputising the Cargo Services Customs Clearance Supervisor. - Receiving the shipping documents consigned to QR Subsidiaries - Verify and check the shipping document for export and import shipments of QR Group including but not limited to the Packing list, commercial invoice, MAWB/HAWB, etc. - Coordinate with QR logistics department for the delivery location whether it's in landside or airside. - Obtaining the approval from the respective subsidiary to debit the applicable charges to their account. - Clarifying the customs clearance requirements of each shipment commodity to the respective subsidiary to avoid any complications during the customs clearance process including the other government authorities requirements. - Issued the customs declaration "Bayan" according to the customs regulations. - Observing the inspection process by the authority and reporting any damage happened to the shipment during the inspection and obtaining the necessary report from them and report the same to QAS delivery department to issue the CDR. - In the event of shipment rejection to obtain the required approvals from the concerned authority to dispose the shipment. - Ensure all the export and import shipments cleared and finalized on the customs system. - Coordinate with the third-party customs clearance companies in case they are involved in the clearance of QR group shipments. - Coordinating with QAS customer services departments to issue the delivery orders and invoices from import and export shipments and issuing the vehicle passes for the trucks including the coordination with appointed third party for transportation if applicable. - Preparing the shift report and updating the department activities data for management reference and observation of the department performance. - Processing the payment of the cargo manifest and general manifest of settling the bill with customs authority to avoid the exposure of QAS bank guarantee with customs. - Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department **Be part of an extraordinary story** Your skills. Together, everything is possible. **Qualifications**: **About you**: **Essential**: - High School Qualification with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience or Bachelor’s Degree/equivalent with minimum 1 year of job-related experience. - Work experience in Air Cargo Handling/Freight handling. - Has good knowledge about Customs Clearance. - Excellent English communication skills both written and spoken. - A good command over spoken and written Arabic us a distinctive factor - Has good interpersonal skills. - Expert in using MS office suite. **Preferred**: - Ideally has experience in Freight Forwarding Company - Having a valid driving license is an advantage - Familiar with Customs Clearance activity **About Qatar Airways Group** Our story started with four aircraft.
