Key Accountabilities:
Role Purpose

Manage and oversee venues in which temporary exhibitions are held. Assess and advocate for departmental needs and works with QM facilities to ensure CE-operated exhibition venues meet governmental and international rules and regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- **Planning and Operations**
- Responsible for developing all related operational exhibition policies and procedures.
- Collaborate on strategic planning and construct five-year plans.
- Develop the operational strategic planning of the museum/Al-Riwaq and develop planning cycles to assist in this process.
- Oversee operation management specifically at Al-Riwaq and work closely with Operations teams at other exhibition venues.
- Daily inspection of building facilities: electrical, mechanical, civil etc.
- Co-ordinate with FM for repair and maintenance of a daily basis.
- Liaise with security.
- Maintain store and inventory of books, furniture exhibition related items etc. at exhibition venues managed by department.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly Exhibition venue reports highlighting issues, areas of improvements, and needs/requirements.
- Reviews and updates quarterly Individual development plans for supervised staff.
- Must follow QM exhibition policies and procedures.
- Must undergo regular exhibitions related to development and training.
- Must be able to give and organize trainings to venue staff.
- Must be able to manage a team and delegate work to each member.
- Gives guidance and training to the Exhibitions team.
- Liaise with various QM departments such as IT, Procurement, Finance etc.
- Schedule periodical maintenance at all CE managed exhibition sites in co-operation with Centralized FM and other departments.
- Manage the operations team.
- Review and maintain, Central Exhibitions Operational Manuals ensuring that all relevant procedures, policies, trainings, and other relevant information is updated in line with QM, Qatar, and international museum standards and best practice.
- **Financial**
- Develops and oversees the operational budget and expenditures for the Exhibitions Department.
- Must be able to manage budgets over a minimum of QAR 4 million.
- Must work closely with Director of Exhibitions, QM Procurement, QM legal, QM Finance Departments and other departments based on the project requirements.
- Must be able to submit, evaluate, and ensure all requisitions and departmental requests for all operational needs such as additional security, lockers, pest control and management, and barriers.
- **Health and Safety**
- Ensures that all health and safety measures are in place at all Central Exhibitions-operated venues.
- Regular Inspection of fire alarm & firefighting system and manuals are in place and up to date in each venue.
- Development of additional policies and procedures to ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met.
- **Facilities Management**
- Maintenance of venue lighting, climate control (temperature and Humidity).
- Liaise with and ensure all facility reports are updated on a yearly basis and/or based on project requirements and frequency.

Qualifications/Requirements:
**Necessary knowledge to be able to do the job**
- A high level of expertise in the planning and operations of exhibitions.
- Highly organized with extensive operational management experience, including planning, maintenance, and tracking the operations of sites that host exhibitions.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience negotiating and managing contracts and legal agreements.
- Experience managing other staff effectively and working collaboratively in team settings.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to inspire and support a team of peers - to motivate and guide others.
- Experience developing and managing budgets over QAR 10,000,000.
- Must have excellent and superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational ability. Attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel, as needed.
- Flexible approach to work, but highly committed.
- Ability to understand and read building plans.

**Education,** **Experience, and certification requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities or in a relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years of operational experience in a relevant field.
