  • Conduct safety inspections and propose emergency or urgent repairs for all structural defects.
  • Identify and mitigate safety or serviceability risks by recommending suitable engineering solutions.
  • Perform Special Inspections to investigate critical structural issues.
  • Carry out Inspections for Assessment to support structural evaluations.
  • Execute close visual inspections, arrange testing and monitoring programs, and ensure comprehensive reporting.
  • Ensure all structures are made safe and repaired promptly in the event of damage or natural disasters.
Desired Candidate Profile
  • 12–15 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with substantial involvement in the design, construction, repair, and maintenance of bridge and tunnel infrastructure.
  • 6–8 years of experience specifically in the operation and maintenance of highway structures.
  • Proven experience in rehabilitation, retrofitting, and structural strengthening works.
  • Familiarity with Bridge Management Systems (BMS) and Tunnel Asset Management Systems is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge in the maintenance, inspection, and repair of structural assets, including emergency and specialized repair works.

  • Demonstrated experience across various structures, including:

  • Highway bridges

  • Pedestrian and footbridges
  • Tunnels and associated civil works

Technical Expertise

  • Skilled in routine, general, principal, and special inspections.
  • Proficient in structural condition rating, defect identification, and deterioration evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards such as BS, EN, ASTM, QRMM, and DMRB guidelines.
  • Competence in load rating, structural analysis, and safety assessment for bridges and tunnels.
  • Experience in structural instrumentation, monitoring systems, and technical reporting.
  • Ability to review subcontractors' maintenance works and approve repair methodologies.
