We are currently recruiting for anexperienced Training Device Senior Maintenance Engineer working aspart of a small, on-base team performing essential devicemaintenance activities required to meet customer KPI availabilitytargets and to restore customer serviceability in the shortesttimescale possible.

The maintenance responsibility is for theTyphoon training devices (Full Mission Simulator, Unit LevelTrainer, and Avionic Part Task Trainer) and their associated subsystems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance task oversightfor Junior Maintenance Engineer's activities andconsolidated on the job training.
  • Perform maintenance in a safemanner in accordance with the documented maintenance procedure. Diagnose faults and perform remove and replace activities in themost time efficient way possible.
  • Update daily and scheduledmaintenance logs to record all maintenance activities performed. Raise Fault Reports for all items requiring repair or replacement.
  • Update the asset tracker to record the fitting of spares todevices and the location of items requiring repair orreplenishment.
  • Follow the repair and replenishment process inaccordance with the relevant CONOPS documentation.
  • Follow thetool control process described within the relevant CONOPSdocumentation.
  • Follow the Query Answering and Fault Investigationprocess in accordance with the relevant CONOPS documentation. Preparation of Pilot training devices for customer use andassistance with mission specific preparations.
  • Perform the roleof the Device Maintenance Team Leader when the Device MaintenanceTeam Leader is unable to do so due to work patterns, annual leave,training etc.
  • Liaise with the Aircrew Training Coordinator andbe the point of contact for training device availability andmaintenance in the absence of the the Maintenance Team Leader.

Requirements:

  • Delegate for Maintenance Team Leader as the seniormaintenance technician as alternative contact.
  • Performmaintenance in a safe manner in accordance with the documentedmaintenance procedures, including risk assessments and hazardmitigation, and oversee junior maintainers to ensure they adhere tosafe working practices.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to theTyphoon Onbase Training Devices Safety Briefing Guide.
  • Befamiliar with and adhere to the contents of the relevant CONOPSdocumentation (Maintenance Safety Management).
  • Ensure that allincidents and nearmiss events are reported in accordance withdevice CONOPS procedures.
  • When requested by the Maintenance TeamLeader, update the Onbase Hazard Log in relation to incidents andnearmisses.
  • Sustain safety training currency.
  • Support VisitingContractors performing support activities onsite
