  • Must be physically fit and able to perform strenuous activities such as swimming, pulling people from the water, and administering first aid.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the various risks and dangers associated with swimming and water activities, and be able to identify potential hazards before they become emergencies.
  • Must be able to pull and carry heavy loads, such as rescue equipment or injured swimmers, as needed.
  • Must be able to effectively use rescue equipment, such as backboards or oxygen masks.
