The Finance Controller is incharge of program controlling during the full product cycle andprovides a consolidated view of allprogramsfinancialperformance.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include thefollowing.

  • Responsible forproject-related cost and recovery tracking for prototype builds,prototype / production tooling, and capital equipment. Thisincludes understanding gains/losses in each of these categories.
  • Responsible for facilitating the collection ofprototype build and tooling customer recoveries through the cashcollection. This includes coordination of all customer-requireddocumentation in order to invoice and be paid by the customer.
  • In conjunction with the plant controllers, theProject Controller will be responsible for the monthly review andapproval of the project-related prototype / tooling / CIP balancesheet account reconciliations.
  • Ensureproject-related procurement activities are completed properlyutilizing the SAP-MIRO process (assigning proper WSB elements andaccounts to PORs). Project controller will run MIRO reports monthlyto track activity and report back to Finance Director on issues.
  • Responsible for the set-up of all projects inSAP to input hours (both external and internal programs). Alsofollow up monthly on hours entered into projects and continuefollow up with managers/employees that do not enter hours asrequired. Generate reports monthly on hours entered byemployee.
  • In conjunction with the ProgramManager, review the program Cost Tracking Logs for updates andaccuracy at Gate releases (profitability analysis) and driveprogram profitability improvements.
  • Assist inthe Month End close by providing project hours, downloading costcenter information out of SAP and reconciliation of the capitalizeddevelopment costs.
  • Provide cash forecastinformation to plants for project-related capital, tooling, andcapitalized development transfer.
  • Finance Pointperson for all Advanced Quoting:
    • 1)Ability tounderstand cost estimating model and quotations (work the PLC alongwith Salesperson)
    • 2) Ability to completecustomer forms as required / attend with Salespeople to defendcosting etc.
  • Point personto learn the full capabilities SAP PM / PLC modules from HQ andassist / train other NA team members (PMs,Controllers).
  • Conduct Ad Hoc financial analysisas required by management.
  • Provide year-endsupport of auditor requirements related to project activity.
  • Annually calculate hourly rate for billabledepartments.
  • Issue internal order numbers tocontrol program costs in SAP.
  • Maintain recordsof project related time tracking and invoices paid to bill customerfor reimbursable costs.

EDUCATIONAND/OREXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorsdegree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics,or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experiencein the area of program / project controlling in a global operatingcompany
  • Automotive experience is a plus,manufacturing facility experience is amust.
  • Project management skills and provenhistory of successful completion on independentassignments
  • Ability to multi-task andproblem-solve in a fast-paced, changingenvironment
  • Demonstrates keen sense ofpriorities, inspire others with forward lookingorientation
  • Strong interpersonal skills,ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of theorganization and with staff at remote locations as well asconnecting people
  • Possession of excellent oraland writtencommunication
