Job Summary: The Senior Logistics Officer will spearhead the procurement and logistics operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, ISO 9001:2015 standards, and local regulations. The role demands strategic planning, negotiation, and management of logistics and transportation services to fulfill company and client needs.

This role is designed for a resilient, innovative thinker who can handle stress and multitask effectively, ensuring the smooth operation of the Company's logistics activities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic planner with a strong quantitative background, capable of leading the team to success.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead procurement processes in line with Company policies and standards.
  2. Formulate and execute logistics strategies to enhance transportation, customer service, whilst fully complying with Qatar laws and regulations.
  3. Negotiate and finalize contracts to always secure the Company's interests.
  4. Manage the logistics function, maintaining ISO 9001:2015 standards throughout the procedure.
  5. Monitor agreements, oversee invoices and payments.
  6. Advise on shipping best practices and administer international shipments ensuring regulatory compliance in addition to inbound and outbound logistics.
  7. Prepare and manage import/export documentation for timely and cost-efficient delivery.
  8. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure smooth logistics operations.
  9. Maintain precise logistics records, ensuring data integrity within electronic systems.
  10. Achieve set targets in terms of cost, productivity, accuracy, and timelines.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and quality systems.
  12. Independently manage multiple projects, showcasing strong organizational skills.
Procurement Scope of Work:
  1. Evaluate and register suppliers, negotiating terms and conditions.
  2. Issue and administer end-to-end procurement.
  3. Sustain positive supplier relationships and efficiently resolve disputes.
  4. Manage and evaluate vendors.
Logistics Scope of Work:
  1. Ensure orders and shipments are in place and on schedule.
  2. Manage shipping documents and secure pre-approvals for clearance operations.
  3. Secure transit insurance for shipments and confirm orders meet specifications.
  4. Provide cost-effective logistics solutions and maintain strong service provider relationships.
  5. Fulfill accounting requirements and prepare payment to allocate project costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Excellent knowledge of Qatar's customs laws and procedures.
  2. Hands-on experience of full clearance process and procedures.
  3. Team player with proven management skills to enhance team performance.
  4. Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  5. Capacity to work under pressure and extend efforts to meet duties.
  6. Quantitative skills for informed decision-making and operational streamlining.
Education and Experience:
  1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in logistics & procurement, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
  3. Candidates with logistics background preferably in a freight shipping service preferred.
