General Cashiering
  1. Collects the cashier's envelopes from the "Drop Safe Deposit Box" each morning and counts the contents in the presence of a witness.
  2. Receives and banks all cheques received, including those received in the mail.
  3. Banks the previous day's collection at the hotel's bank accounts on a daily basis.
  4. Prepares "Daily General Cashier Report" and forwards it to Income Auditor for verification.
  5. Provides small money for Front Office Cashier that is required for money change.
  6. Verifies all cash receipts and foreign currency receipts used in numerical sequence to ensure collections are accounted for.
  7. Ensures adherence to all cash and banking policy based on the voco Doha West Bay Suites Accounting Standards Manual.
  8. Disburses all authorized petty cash vouchers and submits for reimbursement at least once weekly.
  9. Monitors fluctuations of exchange rates and amends the Front Desk Exchange Rates notice accordingly on a daily basis.
  10. Maintains a permanent record of all cash overages and shortages by individual cashier on a daily basis and submits this report to the Finance Manager for monthly review and signature.
  11. Carries out spot checks on the entire house bank from time to time.
  12. Keeps the safe closed at all times and fully locked when unattended regardless of the length of time involved.
  13. Prepares petty cash journal voucher weekly.
  14. Prepares Cash Receipt Journal every end of the month.
  15. Carries out any other duties as required by the hotel's management.
Paymaster
  1. Supervises monthly payrolls with accuracy and timely payment of associates' salaries, benefits, and other related payments.
  2. Regularly monitors the time and attendance system ensuring proper accounting of all payroll-related accruals.
  3. Prepares month-end JV interface to Financial System.
  4. Prepares monthly payroll reconciliation.
  5. Ensures that payroll policies and procedures of the Rabban Suites West Bay Doha are followed.
  6. Compiles and inputs payroll data for hourly employee payroll.
  7. Analyzes, prepares, and inputs payroll data for all personnel.
  8. Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures.
  9. Ensures compliance with all applicable Qatar labor laws.
  10. Solves problems concerning payroll, answers inquiries, and enforces payroll policies.
  11. Prepares final settlement calculation for leaving employees.
  12. Assists with compiling and preparing various payroll-related reports.
  13. Files and prepares personnel records for storage annually.
  14. Performs other related duties as required and assigned by management.

  2. Coordinates Finance schedules with all programs including annual leaves.

  1. Oversees work performance of new colleagues when it comes to posting, audit, and balance reporting.
  2. Helps train new hires on-the-job-trainees (On the Job Training) and cross-trainees.
GENERAL
  1. Communicates effectively with all other departments.
  2. Identifies problems and determines solutions.
  3. Attends meetings, training sessions, and any other required meeting or training session.
  4. Identifies opportunities to innovate service delivery and product offering to meet and exceed client expectations.
  5. Ensures safe work practices are adopted at all times and reports any OHS concerns immediately to your direct manager or HR Manager.
  6. Accountable for all cash in hand. Receives and disburses cash and ensures that they are properly accounted for.
  7. Reconciles Bank Book with Bank Statement daily.
  8. Effective Inventory management.
  9. Maintains a professional and organized work environment.
  10. MIS Reports, presentations, and other accounting duties are consistently of a high standard; free of errors and omissions.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICSEducation

Bachelor in Commerce

Experience

Previous hotel in accounts environment experience; Minimum 5 years as Cashier experience

Technical/Skills

Competency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Vingcard and related hospitality proprietary software packages preferably Bayan; Competent Oral and Written English Communication Skills; Strong organizational and work coordinating skills to handle multiple assignments and projects.
