HVAC Engineer

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Engineer to join our team. As an HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for various projects. Your expertise will contribute to the development of efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective HVAC solutions.

**Responsibilities**:
Design and Engineering:

- Develop HVAC system designs and layouts for new construction projects or retrofitting existing systems.
- Conduct load calculations, equipment selection, and sizing of components.
- Design ductwork, piping systems, air distribution, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to incorporate HVAC requirements into building plans.

Energy Analysis and Efficiency:

- Perform energy analysis and simulations to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Evaluate energy consumption, demand, and efficiency of various design options.
- Recommend energy-saving measures and sustainable HVAC solutions.
- Incorporate renewable energy sources and energy recovery systems where applicable.
- Conduct life-cycle cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective solutions.

Project Management:

- Manage HVAC engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and support during construction and commissioning phases.

Technical Analysis and Troubleshooting:

- Conduct technical analysis and feasibility studies for HVAC system upgrades or retrofits.
- Perform system performance evaluations, including equipment efficiency assessments.
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC issues and propose solutions.
- Analyze and resolve operational and performance problems in existing systems.
- Stay updated on emerging HVAC technologies and industry trends.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Create detailed documentation of HVAC designs and calculations.
- Generate project documentation, including submittals, shop drawings, and record drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of project-related correspondence and documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation for project deliverables.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of engineering work.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Address design-related issues and coordinate with project teams for resolution.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Related HVAC Degree. Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in HVAC engineering, design, and project management.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, components, and controls.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Experience with energy analysis and simulation software
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, International Mechanical Code).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
