**The role overview**:
Responsible for accounting and financial support of all African countries including (but not restricted to) month-end reporting, AP, Working Capital requirements, Capex, payroll, cost analysis, project accounting, and other ad-hoc duties.

**Main Responsibilities and Activities**:

- Support Country Manager in all financial aspects
- Cash management including transfers, posting of payments, petty cash, bank reconciliations, weekly cash flows, etc
- Statutory reporting compliance and filings
- AR and AP ledger management
- Monthly reporting and analysis of actuals for region
- Balance Sheet reconciliation and management
- Capex analysis and review
- Supporting and reviewing of payroll processing
- Period Tax filings including VAT, WHT and CIT
- Preparation of monthly reporting packs (in country and JV partner)
- Responsible for completion of yearly audit
- Continuous improvement through systems, processes and procedures
- Ad-hoc duties as required by AMEC Financial Controller.

**Essential**:

- Recognized professional accounting qualification or qualified by experience.
- Extensive financial management experience
- Must be a self-starter and have pro-active attitude.
- Experience in managing a regional business.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with all relevant stakeholders.

**Preferred**:

- Good computer skills and understanding of MS Office, especially excel

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal communications skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial management.
- Commitment to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to travel to regions as required.
