Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned investment professional to join our private assets team in Qatar. As an Investment Executive, you will play a pivotal role in managing substantial assets and contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans for our global investment fund.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting due diligence on Venture Capital funds and developing a strategy for VC fund selection. They will also take a lead role in establishing local funds, promoting Doha as an attractive hub for foreign asset businesses. Additionally, they will contribute to shaping and executing strategic plans for the funds and assigned sub-asset classes, collaborating with external investment managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence on Venture Capital funds, evaluating their performance, risk profile, and potential for growth.
  • Develop a robust strategy for VC fund selection, considering factors such as market trends, investment opportunities, and risk appetite.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including fund managers, investors, and industry experts.
  • Collaborate with the private assets team to identify and capitalize on investment opportunities that align with our risk-appetite and optimize returns.
  • Drive the creation of a co-investment pipeline, ensuring alignment with our risk profile and maximizing benefits for internal investments and regional teams.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Extensive experience in Venture Capital fund selection, preferably with a focus on Private Equity and Growth/VC relationships.
  • A deep understanding of alternative asset classes, including private equity, venture capital, and real assets.
  • A background from an alternative asset manager, specialized fund of fund boutique, or fund advisory firm. Investment banking and broader advisory backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans for private equity funds or similar financial institutions.
  • Experience or understanding of the Gulf investment landscape would be highly beneficial.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
  • Educational background of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as finance, economics, or business administration.
