Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Supervisor to join our team at Marriott International, Inc. As a key member of our food and beverage team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food preparation and presentation.
  • Determine the presentation of food and create decorative food displays to enhance the dining experience.
  • Monitor food quantities, quality, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Inform food and beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items to ensure seamless service.
  • Prepare special meals or substitute items as needed to accommodate guest requests.
  • Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
  • Provide cooks with necessary items and equipment to ensure they have everything needed to perform their duties.
  • Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and food to ensure adequate inventory and minimize waste.
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety and quality control programs.
  • Ensure the quality of food items and notify management if a product does not meet specifications.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating kitchen staff.
  • Follow all company and safety policies and procedures, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
Requirements
  • Technical, trade, or vocational school degree in culinary arts or related field.
  • 4-6 years of related work experience, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve kitchen issues.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
