Restaurant Manager Job Description

At Mondrian Doha, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Food and Beverage department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant, providing exceptional guest service, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and develop restaurant food and beverage standards to maximize departmental profits.
  2. Optimize guest satisfaction through consistent high operating standards.
  3. Assist the leadership team in achieving high guest satisfaction.
  4. Guide and lead servers to ensure excellent guest service.
  5. Perform supervisory duties on a regular basis.
  6. Maximize sales potential and encourage up-selling to increase revenue.
  7. Ensure cash floats are secure at all times.
  8. Work within budgeted costs to minimize waste and optimize resources.
  9. Minimize abuse of operating equipment and ensure efficient use of supplies.
  10. Record all voids and report payment discrepancies to the Restaurant Manager.
  11. Follow company procedures when handling cash, credit cards, and cheques.
  12. Address guest complaints promptly and professionally.
  13. Liaise with colleagues to ensure seamless guest service.
  14. Ensure handover at shift end and beginning.
  15. Liaise with the Head Chef on a regular basis.
  16. Liaise with Reception to ensure efficient guest service.
  17. Gain customer feedback to improve guest satisfaction.
  18. Complete a full report of the day's events in the Management Report Book.
  19. Maintain a high customer profile and handle guest comments, questions, complaints, requests, and enquiries professionally.
  20. Familiarize yourself with guest needs and requirements to ensure efficient and friendly service.
  21. Focus on quality and consistency in all areas, including food and beverage quality, guest service, cleanliness, etc.
  22. Support other revenue centers in the hotel, such as Rooms and Events.
  23. Be results-driven and totally accountable.
  24. Attend daily business review meetings, weekly strategic sales meetings, management meetings, and other meetings as required/requested.
  25. Undertake regular inspections to ensure company assets are well maintained and protected.
  26. Ensure the business is seen as a respected, important member of the community by local influencers.
  27. Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as requested.
