The Senior Manager Ground Operations (SMGO) is a nominated post holder acceptable to the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority and responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of ground operations. SMGO shall possess strong network operations control experience, with a broad knowledge base of the airline business, to perform a key leadership role within the Integrated Operation Control Centre (IOCC).

SMGO shall ensure that the highest level of ground support is provided and supervised to all aircraft, crew at base and at all outstation airports. This role shall ensure that the highest quality and safety level of ground support, crew resourcing and operational flight plans is provided at all times. It is also responsible in ensuring that the service fully satisfies all standard procedures as enforced by the regulatory bodies and highest applicable industry standards.

Main duties:

- Responsible for the strategic and management oversight of the Integrated Operation Control Center (IOCC) which includes the OCC, Dispatch, Crew Service, Customer Relation Management, Corporate Travel and Ground Operation Administration.
- Guides and develops their direct reportees by laying out structure and content of sup-departmental procedure, offering development and educational initiatives.
- Responsible to manage all aspects of relevant Emission Monitoring schemes, such as EU-ETS or CORSIA.
- Leads management of Flight Duty Period (FDP) and Fatigue relevant monitoring and mitigation actions.
- Accountable for the management of all ground handling relevant contracts.
- Provides technical and operational suggestions to Senior Management for consideration and submits reports pertaining to flight disruptions and deviations in consultation with other departments so that remedial action can be taken.
- Prepares the departmental annual budget.
- Establishes the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.

Qualifications

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Possession of Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate or ten (10) years experience in Flight Operations out of which five years in a managerial level.
