Business Account Manager

The account manager is the link between the client and the entire agency team. Along with their team the account manager acts as both the salesperson for the agency and as the client's representative within the agency.
The account manager also leads the agencies ideas presentation, ensuring the ideas remain faithful to the brief and that it is kept within the time frame and budget.
The most important task in account management is to design the brief; a well targeted brief can be the making of a great campaign.
Description of Job Duties
- The primary responsibilities of account managers are to foster client relationships; work with sales and marketing teams to prepare presentations and sales pitches; design marketing strategies and media proposals; handle client communications and write client reports; and communicate client agendas to other staff members.
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts
- Build and maintain relationships with clients often through regular face to face contact and meetings
- Arrange meetings with clients
- Act as the first point of contact for client questions and requests
- Talk to other departments in the organisation in order to facilitate client requests
- Identify new client relationships and make pitches to potential new clients
- Give presentations about their organisation’s products or services
- Manage a budget and achieve targets
- Generate accurate reports on the status of existing accounts and new business
- Ensure clients pay on time
Work activities
- Creating a portfolio of client accounts and monitoring the ongoing activities related to them.
- Managing, reviewing progress and delivering the client’s advertisement projects.
- Conducting meetings with the clients as well as informing them about the current work status of their projects.
- Establishing relationships with new clients and maintaining and nurturing business relationships with existing clients.
