Payroll Assistant

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll for employees.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry of payroll information.
- Verify employee timesheets and attendance records.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy.
- Assist with payroll-related inquiries from employees.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Support the payroll department in auditing and reconciling payroll data.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end tax documents and filings.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with payroll software and systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
