The Role
We're seeking a highly experienced and strategic professional to lead our Training Hub in Qatar. As the Director of Learning and Development, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and delivery of comprehensive training programs for Mastercard's EEMEA customer base.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and subject matter experts to ensure training is aligned with Mastercard's business goals and core values. Your primary objective will be to enable customer growth, foster innovation, and equip our customers with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in a rapidly evolving financial services industry.
Main Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage Mastercard's Training Hub, aligning training initiatives with business objectives and customer needs.
- Training Program Development: Oversee the development of cutting-edge training solutions, including online, blended, and in-person learning experiences, ensuring that content is relevant, engaging, and impactful.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and regional customer base to identify training opportunities and ensure alignment with Mastercard's strategic priorities.
- Team Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration.
- Quality Assurance & Evaluation: Implement rigorous assessment and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of the training hub and make data-driven improvements.
- Innovation & Technology: Drive the adoption of advanced technologies and Mastercard Digital Innovation products and services to enhance learning experiences and improve scalability.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage the training hub's resources to meet center objectives.
- Global Coordination: Ensure consistency and scalability of training initiatives across all regions while allowing for local customization where necessary.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Human Resources, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or director-level role.
- Proven experience in managing global training programs in a large, multinational organization.
- Strong understanding of modern training methodologies, adult learning principles, and digital learning platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with diverse teams across multiple regions.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with financial services and the digital payments industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with Design Thinking and rapid prototyping is a plus.
