**Financial Secretary Job Duties**

A financial secretary typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

- Preparing monthly financial reports for senior management, including income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets
- Reviewing invoices for accuracy and request adjustments, where necessary
- Coordinating the company’s budget, including preparing the annual operating budget and capital expenditure budget, and monitoring the results of these budgets throughout the year
- Receiving and recording incoming payments from customers or clients, and depositing them in the business’s bank account
- Assisting accounting staff with administrative tasks such as data entry and maintaining records
- Maintaining the organization’s accounting records by updating records of income and expenses
- Ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded and processed according to established procedures and laws
- Processing invoices for payment, including record keeping, sending notices for late payments, and negotiating settlement amounts when appropriate
- Reviewing financial statements and recommending any changes that may be needed to reflect current market conditions.

A financial secretary typically needs to have the following qualifications:
**Minimum Requirements**
- Associates Degree and one (1) year experience; or two (2) years of experience in advanced clerical work
- Educational qualification should be post graduate (M Com, MBA etc)
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment.
